PowerSouth is owned by its 20 distribution members, who govern and set policy through a 40-member board of trustees composed of two voting delegates from each distribution system. The president and chief executive officer and his staff carry out daily management of PowerSouth.

PowerSouth has five operating divisions: Power Delivery; Power Supply; Financial Services; External Affairs; and Legal & Corporate Affairs.
