Safety City

Safety City is a program designed to teach elementary-aged students about electricity, energy preservation, electrical safety, and how electricity travels from power plants to homes and schools. Because students are constantly exposed to the many benefits and potential dangers of electrical power, the goal of the Safety City program is to help students better understand how electricity provides an improved way of life and the dangers of electricity when used improperly.

Children learn about safety and the dangers of electricity through the adventures of “Neon Leon” and “Lightnin’ Liz” as the two characters face dangerous situations and cooperative representatives discuss how to handle each situation. At the end of each program, students have an opportunity to ask questions pertaining to electricity and electrical safety.
