Opp Electric, a division of The City of Opp Utilities Board, is a municipally owned electric utility serving more than 3,000 customers in Opp, Ala. We take pride in offering some of the lowest rates available in south Alabama, which in turn has some of the lowest rates in the country. We also strive to provide reliability and personal service that you can only get from a small local utility.
The Utilities Board also provides water, wastewater treatment, TV cable, and Internet service and leases fiber optic data lines.
Opp has a population of some 7,000 people, located on Highway 331, 20 miles from the Florida state line, and on a direct route from Montgomery to the Florida beaches. There is a new State Park just north of the city with an 1.100-acre lake for fantastic fishing and boating, and land around the area provides a paradise for hunters. We believe in our town’s slogan, “THE CITY OF OPPORTUNITY,” for good living and good playing.
