PLANT LOWMAN EMPLOYEES DEMONSTRATE EXEMPLARY DEDICATION TO SAFETY

ANDALUSIA, ALA. – PowerSouth recognized Plant Lowman employees on Nov. 19, congratulating them for reaching another year with no lost-time accidents.

During the past year, plant employees have worked approximately 372,304 safe hours in harsh, often dangerous conditions. Employees frequently work around live electricity and heavy equipment in less-than-optimal conditions, requiring them to be aware of their surroundings at all times.

The remarkable 2,052,688 hours of work since their last lost-time accident in 2002 further illustrates their dedication to safety.

“The Lowman employees have continued to demonstrate that safety is the first priority at our site by working six years with no lost-time injuries,” said Jamie Waite, Plant Lowman Safety and Training Coordinator. “Our goal is to keep each employee safe and healthy so they can go home at the end of the day the same, or better, than when they came to work.”

Every month, Plant Lowman’s safety team holds safety meetings for all employees. They also ensure employee safety by making routine daily walk-throughs to be sure each employee is following safety guidelines and procedures.

“It’s amazing to see so many employees, all with different backgrounds and opinions, come together and work to reach a common goal — safety,” says Buddy Manring, PowerSouth Safety Supervisor. “Plant Lowman employees had to show determination and dedication to safety and each other to be able to reach such a milestone.”
