ANDALUSIA, ALA.– Tommy Skinner of Elba, Ala., was elected to the PowerSouth Board of Trustees during the Oct. 28 board meeting.
Skinner is Agency Director for National Security Insurance Company, and he is a graduate of the Life Underwriter Training Council.
He represents the City of Elba Water and Electric Board on PowerSouth’s board, replacing board member and Elba Mayor James Grimes who passed away Sept. 9.
“James Grimes left some big shoes to fill in his passing,” Skinner said. “New Elba Mayor Mickey Murdock and I will represent the people of our city in the best way possible. It is an honor to serve as a PowerSouth board member.”
Skinner has served as a mentor for United Way and as a volunteer for the Elba City Chamber, Tiger Town Park and the Elba Playground.
He and his wife, Brenda, reside in Elba. They have five children – Casey, Colby, Clark, Taylor and Tanner.
