ANDALUSIA, ALA.– PowerSouth Energy Cooperative employee Wanda Woods was named the Andalusia Office Professional’s Association (AOPA) 2010 Office Professional of the Year on April 20. Woods serves as Support Services Coordinator in PowerSouth’s Communications Department.
The title of Office Professional is bestowed to a local office professional who serves as an active member of AOPA.
Woods was nominated by her supervisor, PowerSouth Communications Manager Mark Ingram. “Mrs. Woods’ position involves working in concert with others, an ability to collaborate in creative endeavors, and an ability to serve without dominating any undertaking,” said Ingram. “It is this extraordinary skill that Mrs. Woods brings to every project. It is her poise and style in contributing her best to all of her undertakings that creates an environment that draws the very best from her colleagues.”
As a member of the Andalusia Office Professionals Association, Woods has served as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Director. She has been a member of the organization for 18 years.
Woods started her career at PowerSouth in 1990 as a Clerk IV. She was promoted to Administrative Clerk, Communications Department Secretary, Meeting and Events Planner and into her current role. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Faulkner University.
“Mrs. Woods not only offers her best each day in her role as the Communication Support Services Coordinator at PowerSouth,” said Ingram. “She willingly shares her gifts, talents, keen eye and expertise with others.”
In addition to her Coordinator duties, Woods serves on PowerSouth’s Activities and Wellness Committees and is the company’s Community Christmas Coordinator. She is active at her church, Mt. Olive Community Church, and is a devoted wife of Kennedy Woods and mother of three children, Kayla, Raven and Nicolas.
