POWERSOUTH ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES

PowerSouth Staff Changes

PowerSouth Energy Cooperative announced today the promotion of three employees to its executive management team, as well as two other employee promotions, effective June 4, 2017.

Ron Graham has been named Vice President of Power Supply. In this role, Graham will lead PowerSouth’s Bulk Power, Energy Services, Energy Control and Fuels departments. With 27 years of experience at PowerSouth, he previously served as Director of Power Supply.

Graham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Alabama. A native of Mobile, he and his wife, Carolyn, have two sons, Ross and Riley.

David Powell has been named Vice President of Power Production. In this role, Powell will be responsible for all PowerSouth’s generating facilities. With 39 years of experience at PowerSouth, he previously served as Director of Power Production.

Powell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Industrial Technology from Livingston University (now the University of West Alabama). A native of Leroy, Ala., he and his wife, Cindy, have three sons, Ryan, Casey and Calhoun, and six grandchildren.

Graham and Powell will report to Damon Morgan, who has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for overseeing PowerSouth’s generation and transmission assets, power and energy purchases, system planning, fuels acquisition and transportation, telecommunications, information systems and the customer response center. A 34-year veteran of PowerSouth, he previously served as Chief Operating Officer.

Morgan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and is a Certified Professional Engineer.  He is a native of Walnut Hill, Fla., and he and his wife, Dorothy, have three sons, Jeremy, Jacob and Jason, and two grandchildren.

Matt Diamond has been promoted to Fuels & Energy Resources Manager with responsibility for the Fuels Department, the Energy Resources Section and Renewables. He has been employed at PowerSouth for six years, serving most recently as Operations Staff Engineer & Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer.

Diamond earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida. He is also a Licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama and Florida. A native of Jay, Fla., he and his wife, Stacy, have three children, Daisy, Shepherd and Rosie.

Chris Tillman has been named Fuels Supervisor in the Fuels Department. With 16 years of experience at PowerSouth, he most recently served as Fuels Representative.

Tillman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Engineering from Auburn University. A native of Andalusia, Ala., he and his wife, LaShon, have three children, Connor, Avery and Amberly.
